Organization Branding on Gold Image (Windows 11/10/7)

Branding is a process of customizing the gold image with Organization logo, splash screen and with other details related to the Organization. 

Gold Image - A Windows 11/10/7 build which is deployed through out the organization on Desktops, laptops, kiosks and other generic devices. In an organizational context, a "gold image" refers to a pre-configured and standardized computer system or server setup that serves as a baseline or template for deploying multiple identical or similar systems within the organization. This is done for standardization, security and compliance, version control and scalability. 
 
While customizing a Windows 11/10/7 image for organization or in the process of creating a gold image or while creating a image for kiosk or generic devices, lot of time there are requirement to change the splash screen. This is done for branding purpose. This can be done on Windows 11/10 or Windows 11/10 thin clients or Windows 7 machine. 

In a Windows image, a splash screen refers to the initial graphical element or image that is displayed when the operating system starts up or an application launches. It provides a visually appealing and branded introduction to the user interface. This can be referred to the background image on the login screen.

Below is the process for the same -

Go to c:\windows\system32\oobe\Info\Backgrounds
Note: - Info and Background folder need to be created under oobe.
Rename the image as backgrounddefault.jpg and put it in:-
C:\windows\system32\oobe\Info\Backgrounds

Press Windows + R & type regedit
In registry editor go to:-
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Authentication\LogonUI\Background
Create a new REG_DWORD entry and name it as OEMBackground & modify its value to 1.
