Want to set your favourite image as a background in file explorer

What is file explorer in Windows?

File or windows Explorer is a built-in file management application in the Windows operating system. It provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to browse, navigate, and manage files and folders on their computer. In File Explorer, you can navigate through different drives and folders on your computer, perform various file operations like copying, moving, deleting, and renaming files, and access additional features and options provided by the application.

The process which runs for file or windows explorer is explorer.exe.

What is explorer.exe?

 

Explorer.exe, short for Windows Explorer, is a crucial component of the Windows operating system. It is responsible for providing the graphical user interface (GUI) and managing the desktop, taskbar, and file management functions in Windows.

Follow the below steps -

1. Right click on desktop, click on new and the click on "Text Document".

2. Now all you have to do is just create this note pad file and copy paste the below text (here the name of the file is image.jpg) -

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]iconarea_image=C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper\image.jpg
iconarea_text=0x00FFFFFF

3. Rename the notepad file to desktop.ini
4. After renaming the notepad file delete the image.jpg as it is set for my PC 

5. Now go to C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper and paste your favorite wallpaper (i.e. image.jpg) in the link 6. Copy it's name and instead of image.jpg which i have for my PC paste your fav wallpaper name
save it.

Now, when you open your Local drive or file explorer you can see your favourite wallpapers.
