Couldn't verify C:\Windows\CCMSetup\MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi 'authenticade signature' Return Code 0x800b0101 - SCCM 2012 SP1 Client Installation Issue.

Hi all,

I was working on a client site recently & they were having a CAS & 3 Primary Sites in there Hierarchy.
it was a migration from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012.After the migration Tried OSD (a simple Bare metal task sequence with just the OS & SCCM Client). But there was a problem with the client installation.
While deploying the client through SCCM TS the smsts.log shows no error but the ccmsetup.log file shows the following error :-

This is a known issue which is received on the SCCM 2012 SP1 installation where the installation media was
downloaded before 25 Jan, 2013.
The MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi certificates present in the media was expired so it shows this error in the log files.
KB2801987 was release by MS as a fix for this issue.(KB2801987 Download Link)
Just download & install the KB on the primary site. Once the KB is installed MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi certs are updated & now the Client installation should work fine.
