SCCM 2012 SP1 - Contents Not updated to Distribution Point.

Hi All,

Recently I was working on a SCCM 2012 SP1 environment on one of our client site. We were having few packages which needs to be updated & few new packages needs to be added. There were 2 DP one on the SCCM Primary site server & one on a separate physical machine. After updating the packages I found that they were successfully updated to the DP which was present on a separate machine & were failing on the DP which was on SCCM Server. I tested with multiple packages and found same issue the packages were getting updated on the other DP just fine but were not getting updated to the SCCM primary site DP. To troubleshoot this I tried to dig into the distmgr.log file present in the site server this log file would have all the important details about the package distribution with error details and codes if something is failing. 

The error in the Distmngr.log file was :-

~Failed to set share security on share \\Server FQDN\SMSSIG$. Error = 5  $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><02-01-2014 17:57:25.514-330><thread=4452 (0x1164)>

~Failed to set access security on share SMSSIG$ on server Server FQDN  $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><02-01-2014 17:57:25.515-330><thread=4452 (0x1164)>

When new packages were created & distributed to the DP present in SCCM Primary Site they show the same error. After searching for a while found that the account which was added in the Site System Role in SCCM was incorrect, changed the account to "Use the site server's computer account to install this site system"and the packages were updated fine.
