SCCM Primary Site Installation
Install the Pre-requisites on the Primary site server in a similar way we did on CAS server.

After this Delegate the permision of SCCM promary site server in AD Container by following Part 6 of this series.
SCCM Primary Site Installation
Run the splash.hta file from the SCCM setup:-
Click on install:-
Click Next to continue:-
Select “Install a Configuration Manager Primary site” & click next:-
Select the option as per you requirements if you are installing this in production environment provide a key for lab evaluation edition is good to go, it provides 180 days as the trial period:-
Accept the EULA & click on Next to continue:-
Check the License agreement boxes for these products:-
Here the Setup will download updates for the installation to
continue, I had these updates downloaded.
Select the “Download required files” option to download the
updates, click next to continue:-
Check if English is selected & then click on next to continue:-
Again check if English is selected & Click on next to continue:-
Here you need to provide the details about the site, Provide
site code & name:-
Now, as this is the second site in the hierarchy we need to connect it to a CAS, Write the name of the CAS server here:-
Check the SQL Instance details & click on next to continue:-
Leave everything default & click on next to continue:-
Check the Server name as this will be the server where SMS Provider will be installed:-
Select "Configure the communication method on each site system role" & click next:-
Check the site settings, Click on next to continue:-
Select the appropriate option & click on next to continue:-
Review the summary & click on next to proceed with the installation:-
There will be a pre-requisite check before the setup begins
installation just like the CAS installation, here only WSUS warning is received as this site do not have the
WSUS pre-requisites installed we can ignore this warning now & can proceed
with the installation it can be installed later.
Click on Begin install to proceed with the installation:-
Once the installation is complete, Don't close this wizard now we will be coming to this again later:-
Once the Configuration Manager is installed, Go to C:\Program File\Microsoft Configuration Manager\tools & Run cmtrace.exe :-
Set CMTrace as the default log file viewing Application by clicking on "Yes":-
Go back to the setup again & Click on View log :-
You can check the complete installation details from this log file:-
This is the new Primary site:-
Go to Monitoring/Site Hierarchy and you should get the hierarchy diagram here:-
These are the entry created by the site in AD Container:-
