System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2 CU4 - Installation

Hello Everyone,

Microsoft Today released Cumulative Update 4 for System center configuration manager 2012 R2.

Installation Steps :-

This updates can be applied to CAS, Primary site, Secondary site, Configuration manager console, SMS provider.

1. Download & extract the setup.
2. Once extracted it will generate a file called CM12-R2CU4-KB3026739-X64-ENU.exe
3. If you have CAS, Primary & secondary site hierarchy. Update CAS first, then primary site & then  secondary site.
4. For standalone primary site just run the setup on the site server :-

Click on Next to proceed the installation -

Accept EULA & click next :-

Let the pre-reqs check run successfully, Click next to continue :-

The Installation of this update will upgrade the configuration manager console too. Click on next to continue :-

Update the Database,

Leave the settings default & click on next to continue :-

Update Package for SMS Provider :-

Update Package for Console :-

 Update Package for Client :-

Click on Install to proceed :-

You can get under the hood details by clicking on View Log :-

Once the setup completes click on next :-

Click on Finish & then restart the site server:-

I was having SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 before, it was version 5.0.7958.1401 after upgrading the site to SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 the version gets updated to  5.0.7958.1501.
 

 

Site code can be verified from the SCCM console, from the left most side of the SCCM console click on down arrow & then select "About Configuration Manager" :-
