Previous Post : Part 9 - SCCM 2012 R2 Installation : SCCM Primary Site Installation
After the successful installation of SCCM Primary site we will start with the configuration part, in this process we will configure the :-
1. Discovery Methods
2. Boundary & Boundary Group
3. Client Settings.
4. Accounts (Network Access account & Client installation account)
This post describes the Discovery Methods.
Discovery Methods :-
Go to Administrator\Hierarchy Configuration\Discovery Methods
Right Click on Active Directory Forest Discovery & Select Properties :-
Check all the options here, it will create active directory default boundary :-
Click on OK & then click on Yes to run the discovery :-
Monitor the background process using ADForestDisc.log :-
Right Click on Active Directory Group Discovery & Select Properties :-
Click on "Enable Active Directory Group Discovery" :-
Click on Add\Location:-
Click on Browse & select the root & the click on OK:-
Click on Poling Schedule & select Enable Delta Discovery :-
Click on OK & then Yes to run the Discovery:-
Monitor the background process using ADForestDisc.log :-
Right Click on Active Directory System Discovery & Select Properties :-
Click on "Enable Active Directory System Discovery" then click on Yellow icon :-
Click on Browse
Select the root directory & Click OK, if you have a separate OU created for Systems then you can add it here :-
Click on OK :-
Go to Polling schedule Tab & check "Enable Delta Discovery" set the time to 20 Mins :-
Go to Options Tab & check both the options :-
Click on OK & then Yes to run the discovery :-
Monitor the background process using adsysdis.log :-
Right Click on Active Directory User Discovery & Select Properties :-
Check "Enable Active Directory User Discovery" & click the yellow icon :-
Click on Browse :-
Select the root & click on OK:-
Click on OK:-
Go to polling schedule & Check "Enable delta discovery", Enter the time to 20 minutes :-
Click on OK & then Click on Yes to run the discovery :-
Monitor the background process from adursdis.log :-
